Southern Railway has announced a series of Chennai train specials and service enhancements to manage the festive rush during Puja & Deepavali 2025. In addition, the popular Tirunelveli – Chennai Egmore Vande Bharat Express is being upgraded to a 20-coach rake, offering more seats for passengers.

Vande Bharat Express Augmentation
To meet the rising demand, the Tirunelveli – Chennai Egmore – Tirunelveli Vande Bharat Express (20665/20666) will run with a 20-car rake from 24th September 2025.
- Earlier: 16 coaches (1128 seats)
- Now: 20 coaches (1440 seats)
- Additional: 312 seats
