Karukku Road Ambattur Big Hole Disrupts Daily Travel for Students, Office Goers, and Industrial Traffic

The Karukku Road Ambattur big hole issue has once again created serious inconvenience for daily commuters. A large hole suddenly appeared on Karukku Road nearly 20 days ago, and repair work is still ongoing. This is not the first time—locals say this is the third occurrence at almost the same spot, raising concerns about road quality and underground infrastructure.

Karukku Road is a major connecting route linking Pudur, Kallikuppam, and Menambedu to the Ambattur Industrial Estate. This stretch is heavily used by students, office goers, industrial workers, and also acts as a connector route towards the Bangalore Highway. Due to the road damage, a section has been blocked, forcing traffic to move through alternate routes.

Traffic police have been managing the situation throughout the day, diverting vehicles through alternative roads to reduce congestion. Police have actually arranged two separate routes for incoming and outgoing vehicles. However, due to improper driving by some road users, vehicles are entering the wrong lanes, which is again resulting in traffic jams, especially during peak morning and evening hours.

Adding to the problem, bus services on this route have been temporarily stopped, causing further difficulty for daily passengers. Because of this blockage, heavy vehicles heading towards Ambattur O.T. and Ambattur Industrial Estate Road are now forced to use this roads, which leads to severe congestion during busy hours.

Despite continuous efforts by traffic police, congestion remains unavoidable unless road users strictly follow the diversions. Commuters are advised to plan their travel in advance, avoid peak hours if possible, and use alternate routes until the repair work is completed.

Residents hope that authorities will not only complete the current work quickly but also take permanent preventive measures, as repeated road cave-ins at the same location indicate a deeper structural issue.
